How can we help?
Answers about the Daily Rally, scores, races, Pro and your data. Search below, or pick a topic.
Assist penalties
What will that peek cost me?
Assists are open to everyone. In ranked play each one adds time instead of taking anything away; in Leisure they're all free. Add a few to see the effect.
Questions
Frequently asked
Daily and Weekly Rally
When does the new puzzle come out?
A new Daily Rally goes live every day at 08:00 UTC, the same moment for everyone in the world. The Weekly Rally resets every Monday at the same time. The countdown at the top of this page shows when that is in your time zone.
Why do I only get one ranked attempt?
Everyone gets the same image, the same cut and the same starting scatter, so your first solve is the fair comparison. You can replay the puzzle as often as you like afterwards, but replays aren't ranked.
When does the clock start and stop?
First you see the whole picture for 5 seconds (the box lid), then the pieces burst into the pile. The clock starts the moment the last piece settles, and stops on the join that makes every piece one group. It doesn't matter where on the board the finished puzzle sits.
Why won't my piece snap into place?
That's on purpose. In Jigsaw Rally a lone piece never snaps to the board, because the board doesn't know where a piece belongs until it touches its neighbors. A piece only locks, with a click, when you drop it next to a piece it truly fits. A wrong fit never joins. Try the practice puzzle above to get a feel for it.
What is the weekly peek?
Until you've solved the Weekly Rally, you can look at its image for 5 seconds once a day. Playing later in the week means more peeks, so it's your call: go early, or study up. We'll send one notification a day when your peek is ready, if you've turned notifications on.
Can I save the Weekly Rally and finish it later?
Yes. The Weekly Rally is a 192-piece puzzle with no time limit, so you can leave it and pick it up again any day before it resets on Monday. The Daily Rally is a 48-piece sprint played in one sitting.
What happens if I pause or get a call?
Pausing hides the whole puzzle and stops the clock. The same happens if you leave the app, so the board never shows in the app switcher. When you come back, tap Resume. Pause count and paused time are recorded with your solve.
My solve says "Finished" instead of a time.
A ranked Daily solve that takes longer than about 20 minutes still completes and still counts for your streak, but it shows as Finished rather than a ranked time. The Weekly Rally and ranked pack stages have no time limit.
I missed yesterday's puzzle. Can I still play it?
Yes, from the Archive. Free players can play the last 3 days; Pro opens every past Daily and Weekly. Archive plays are practice and don't change the leaderboards.
Scores and leaderboards
How is my percentile worked out?
After you submit, we read your rank from the Everyone board and divide it by the number of players so far. Early in the day there are fewer players, so your percentile can shift as more people finish.
What do the little icons next to times mean?
Each time carries a device marker (Duo, iPad or iPhone) and, if any assists were used, an assist marker. They're there so everyone can see how a time was made. Use the Global, Friends and Duo filters to compare like with like.
Why isn't my time on the leaderboard?
- Times only go on the Boards once you've picked a board name in the app and you're signed in to iCloud (iOS Settings, then your name). Without them, your time is still saved on your phone and posts once you're set up, if the puzzle is still open.
- Replays and Archive plays aren't ranked; only your first attempt is.
- Solves past the 20-minute mark show as Finished.
- The app checks every solve before ranking it. A solve that looks impossible, such as joins faster than anyone can drag, is held back. It still counts for your streak.
If none of these fit, write to us with the puzzle number and your board name.
Isn't the iPhone Duo faster?
A little, because the pile and board sit on separate screens. That's why every time shows its device, and Duo players get their own Duo leaderboard. Free and Pro players always share one board; paying never buys rank.
I think someone cheated.
Email us the puzzle number, the player's alias and what looks wrong. We review reports and may remove times that break our fair play rules.
Custom Races and Leagues
How do I make a Custom Race?
- In Races, start a new Custom Race (Pro).
- Choose a photo and crop it to the 3:4 frame.
- Pick 48, 108 or 192 pieces.
- Share the invite link. Everyone gets the identical cut and scatter, and the race board ranks finishers over 24 hours.
Do my friends need Pro to join?
No. Anyone can join a race or Custom League they're invited to, for free. Only creating them needs Pro.
Why can't I pick 192 pieces for my photo?
Bigger puzzles need sharper photos. A photo needs about 1200 × 1600 pixels for 48 pieces, 2100 × 2800 for 108 and 2400 × 3200 for 192. Sizes your photo can't support are grayed out. Photos from a recent iPhone, taken in portrait, work at every size.
What's a Custom League?
A saved group of people you race again and again, like your family, a book club or a classroom. The creator (a Pro member) sets puzzles from their own photos and the league keeps a running board. They're great for occasions: race the wedding photo at an anniversary, the old house at a reunion, or a class picture at a lower piece count for younger players.
Who can see my race photo?
Anyone with the invite link. The app strips location and other metadata from the photo before it's uploaded. Only share links with people you'd show the photo to. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
Ranked packs
How do ranked packs work?
A ranked pack is a themed set of 12 ranked puzzles, such as Wildlife. You climb it in order: finishing a stage unlocks the next. Stages 1 to 4 have 48 pieces, 5 to 8 have 108 and 9 to 12 have 192, the same for everyone.
How is a ranked pack board ranked?
First by how many stages you've finished, then by the total of your best times on those stages. You have a rank even halfway up. Replay any finished stage to beat your time and lower your total.
Can I stop in the middle of a stage?
Yes. Stages save as you go and the clock only counts active time, so you can pause, leave and come back later. There's no time limit on ranked pack stages.
I bought a Leisure pack. Why are ranked packs still locked?
Leisure packs and ranked packs are different products. A Leisure pack lets you play its images at any size with no clock. Ranked packs come with Pro.
Leisure
How do free picks work?
Free players choose 3 Leisure puzzles from the whole library, one at each size: any image at 300 pieces, any at 588 and any at 972. A pick is locked in when you start the puzzle, so browse as long as you like first.
Is my Leisure progress saved?
Yes. Puzzles save automatically, you can have several on the go, and progress syncs between your devices through iCloud.
Can I make it harder?
Turn on rotation mode. Pieces start at random quarter-turns; tap one to turn it, or twist with a second finger while you drag. Pieces only join when they're the right way up.
Pro and billing
What does Pro include?
Custom Races and Leagues from your photos, every ranked pack, the full Leisure library, the whole Archive, deep stats, two streak freezes a month and all cosmetics. The Daily and Weekly Rally stay free for everyone, forever, and there are no ads either way.
How much is Pro?
$2.99 a month or $24.99 a year in the US. Prices in other countries are shown in the app. Leisure packs are also $2.99 each if you'd rather not subscribe.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Jigsaw Rally and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds directly, but we're happy to help if something went wrong.
Pro isn't showing on my new device.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple account you bought with, then open Jigsaw Rally's settings and tap Restore Purchases.
Devices, streaks and reminders
Do I need to make an account?
No. You can play the Daily and Weekly Rally, Leisure packs and ranked packs straight away, and your times, bests, streak and share card are kept on your phone. Pick a board name and avatar and your ranked times go on the Boards through the iCloud account already on your phone. Game Center is optional, for the Friends boards. There's no sign-up, email or password either way.
I got a new phone. Will I lose my history?
Sign in to the same Apple Account and your Leisure progress and purchases come with you. Your times on the Boards do too.
How do streaks work?
You have separate daily and weekly streaks. Any finished solve counts, even one past the 20-minute mark. Pro members get two streak freezes a month to cover a missed day.
Which devices does Jigsaw Rally run on?
iPhone Duo, every recent iPhone and iPad. On an open Duo the pile sits on the left screen and the board on the right, and you carry pieces across the hinge. On iPhone, a closed Duo and iPad in portrait, everything shares one canvas.
How do I change reminders?
Choose your daily reminder time, or turn reminders off, in Jigsaw Rally's settings. We never send promotional notifications. You can turn all notifications off in iOS Settings, under Notifications.
There's no sound or haptics.
Jigsaw Rally respects your silent switch. Flip it off for sound, and check Sounds and Haptics in iOS Settings.
Privacy and safety
What data does Jigsaw Rally collect?
Very little: your scores and board name, your Game Center profile if you choose to sign in, and, if you make a Custom Race, the photo you choose. Your solve history stays on your device. There are no ads and no tracking. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I report an inappropriate race photo?
Open the race, tap the menu, and choose Report. You can also Block the creator, or tap any name on a board to report or block that player. We review every report. For copyright complaints, see our DMCA policy.
How do I delete my data?
- On your device: deleting the app removes its local data.
- iCloud sync: iOS Settings, your name, iCloud, then manage storage for Jigsaw Rally.
- Game Center: managed by Apple in iOS Settings, under Game Center.
- Custom Races: email us the race name or link and we'll delete its photo and results.
Is Jigsaw Rally OK for kids?
Yes. There are no ads, no chat and no strangers' messages. Creating races needs Pro, so on a child's account it goes through Apple's Ask to Buy. For a classroom or family group, a 48-piece Custom Race is a friendly size for younger players.
